Freedom, Inc. (FI) is a nonprofit organization working toward Black and Southeast Asian Liberation. They prioritize serving low- to no-income Black and Southeast Asian women, girls, and LGBTQ+ people in the Madison area.
Free Kenyairra CampaignIn 2022, the Yates Creative team supported Freedom, Inc. by developing a digital campaign to advocate for the freedom of Kenyairra Gadson, a Black queer woman incarcerated for defending herself from an abuser.
This collaboration resulted in the creation of an overall strategy, campaign graphics and messaging, and a digital toolkit to spread the word about Kenyairra’s case.
digital strategy and supportFrom 2022-2023, the Yates Creative team managed Freedom, Inc.’s digital presence. This included the development of a long-term communications strategy, an editorial calendar, content creation for social media and the management of their monthly newsletter.
COACHINGThe Yates Creative team also offers regular coaching to Freedom, Inc.’s communications coordinator. These sessions are geared toward strengthening their ability to develop engaging social media content, refine FI’s messaging and manage its editorial calendar.
